Fred, my friend it doesn't matter what you use or play you sound terrific to me.
I'm going to do "Sweet Lorena" again now that I know the band did such a great job backing me up with all those chords.
It's also going to be nice to see our friend Nick Reed join us in some pickin'.

Jack & Don.
We most likely will have a preponderance of pickers on Wed. This is a good thing. I will give my spot to help keep the flow going so they all can enjoy some playing time. See you there.

I had a great time at the Haywood Henson Steel show in Lakeland yesterday. Thanks to Haywood for inviting us to be part of the show. I saw a lot of the club members there and probably were the biggest part of the support for the show.
Here is the only picture my wife took yesterday. Jack, John and myself. Also Bernie Waldon on bass.

I won't have my steel with me today because my back went out on me again.
So someone can take my place.
I may like to borrow a steel to do one song.

Everyone played just great. Tom, Tom, Skip and I enjoyed the Jam. Jack and Don kept things going like a well oiled watch. A special invitation to all to attend the Manasota Steel Guitar Jam in Bradenton next Tuesday. See http://manasotasteelguitarclub.com/

I always say it was a "good jam" but it was. Actually all our club jams are good, I don't remember any that weren't.
Special thanks to Ernie Cawby for donating the proceeds from the sale of an amp stand and some CD's to the club and to Jim Burden "Bullet Bars" for donating part of his sales of bars to the club.
Next club jam will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010. |

It was, indeed, a good one, Jack. I don't think I've heard the level of musicianship as high as it was last night. It was good to see Nick again and hearing Mr. Smooth's split Steel King cabinet is starting to give me some expensive ideas for my Twin.

Fun jam, moved along smoothly. Enjoyed doing the duet with George and maybe will try one with Jack D. next time.
Sorry if I cost you $$ Skip , but the Rick Johnson cabs are worth every penny! Not only lightens the load, but gives the steel king a much better sound.
Wish I could make the Bradenton jam, but have a booking. I'll try to make the next one.
