| Nothing has been omitted in the bid for a constant camaraderie with the best in the business. I know that I've personally invited them to mix and match with those whose insights may carry much further than one might expect. Temporizing and playing the part of a trendsetter could contribute to a lifetime of hang-ups. |

Richard,
If the situation presents itself as such in the long haul, we'd best be prepared to present some local talent to remind those who may be thinking along those lines, that it will never be possible to embark on a trendsetter mission. A mission such as segregating steel players into categories of achievers will fail; hopefully.

Barry, why bother? Bill is following his usual proclivities; as his last thread dies out into the ether, or once again gets closed by the moderator, he starts a new, equally obtuse tangent of thought and relishes in the attention. I suggest that bill take a long break from posting for several months and go revisit his steel guitar which must be getting lonely.

Barry and Stephen,
I've come to expect the worst in terms of civility when your names appear in my threads. Many things have the capabilities to spoil a good thing. I'm very tempted to cut loose my restraints, and free myself from the bonds of civility. I played more music in practice in the last few days, than most practice over a period of one month. How does that sit with you? |

I practice,rehearse with my band, and play out,shows,gigs, sometimes jam. I'm glad I still work with a band. But having fun is what it's all about.

There is so much to reach for in music when the mood strikes. If you ever travel through Western MA with your steel, we could hook up for a jam session. How about that? |

Joe,
Nothing can be perfect in life. Not music, friendships, flowers, lovely ladies, etc. The nature of life allows for each imperfection. One of the imperfections that is the most difficult, is how we cope with the aging process. You play steel, and hand me a six string guitar. Let me cut loose playing "Under The Double Eagle" at warp speed. I think we'll understand each other at that point in time. |

Hey Steve,I would like to see a Bill Hankey puppet show Youtube clip where he could act out his posts with a couple of marionettes that way I could understand them a little better,I need a visual aids because I can't make heads or tales out of these posts,Work with me Bill,help a brother out.

Joe,
My nerves must be improving with age, which is of course contrary to popular beliefs. I ventured into a bar where a jukebox was blaring the most absolute racketiest recordings of unbearable noise. Do you have any idea of what the average American youths are supporting? I really believe if you walked in there with your steel, and set it to full volume, and just kept banging on the strings, you wouldn't have made a difference. What a mess of misguided youth! They have the pool table parked about 60 inches from the jukebox. I played eight games, and was amazed at my determination to withstand that much audio assault! Now it's my turn to furnish the rub! As General Douglas MacArthur once said: "I'll be back! Checking that jukebox will be my first option, as I search for "music". There will be no busting my chops.. as the earplugs will once again save the day. |
