| I'm still looking around. Let me know what you have. I tried a mandobird. Not exactly a pro instrument in my opinion. Looking for maybe a fender or mandoblaster. If you have a custom axe I'd be willing to look too. |

Every electric mandolin I've played sounds "chirpy" and trebly. At on time or another I've owned a vintage Fender, a 5-string Bluestar, a couple of the newer Korean fenders (a 5 and an 8 ), an Epiphone Mandobird, and and Eastood Mandocaster. The trick -- if there is one -- is to roll of most/all of the treble with tone knob.
The old Fender had a lot of mojo, but didn't sound that much better than the cheapies (IMHO) so I turned it back into cash. The new (Korean) Fenders were unimpressive.
The scale of an electric mandolin is so short that it's very difficult to get a 5th string that will tune down to C without being floppy and nearly impossible to intone.
I've kept the Mandobird. I replaced the vol & tone pots and put full-size Tele knobs on it, which really helps find the sweet spot on the tone pot. The neck on the 4-string Mandobird is tiny, like a fiddle neck.
I also kept the Eastwood, but I changed all the electronics. One Vintage Vibe Charlie Christian pickup mounted as far away from the bridge as possible, 250K pots for volume and tone to bleed off more treble to ground.

| Thanks for the info. The intonation on the mandobird is very inconsistent. The G is way off and no room left to adjust. I had heard the 5 string fenders had some intonation issues on the C. So I guess I'll just wait till I can find what I really want. Oh the Mandobirds neck bends so easy that just playing pressure causes a change in pitch. |

I want to sell this one.
The body is solid walnut, and the pickup is the world's only Seymour Duncan stacked humbucker mandolin pickup. (The coils are on top of each other instead of side by side, for more of single coil sound.)
I have $500 invested in it, but no longer have any use for it, and will take any reasonable offer
