Do the Evans FET 500rds have JBL speakers in them? Or which would be the best JBL to put in an Evans FET 500rd? Thanks

My Evans FET500 came from the factory with a JBL 15" E130 and was fantastic. I replaced it with a custom made matched pair of vintage 1975 JBLs about a year ago because I like to use two amps and I wanted matching speakers. The other amp I have is an Evans SE200 and it came with an Evans 15" eclipse which I didn't care for. I have it in storage I replaced it with one of the custom JBLs that I bought. Hard to beat the old JBLs. The newer JBL speakers for musical equipment are, to my knowledge, not made anymore. Big loss if this is the case.

| Terry, check the post I just made concerning an Emminence speaker in an Evans 500. Supposedly, the Emmence that comes in the Steel King is a reproduction of a JBL 130, I think. So, that may explain why I like the sound so much. |

Hey George, a friend of mine said he tried a Steel King a while back and he didn't like the speaker that came in it, so he put a BW in it and liked it a lot better.  LOL! I don't think any 2 steel players hear tone the same.
About the steel king, is the Eminence speaker the one that comes in all steel kings? The steel king is one amp I've never tried. May have to give it a try though.

| I believe the Eclipse speaker in my FET 500 is Eminence made. Sounds OK to me. |
