I just got finished watching Kayton Roberts and Gary Carter playing steel on The Marty Staurt Show. Marty Stuart loves steel players. Thank God he's on RFD. Just fabulous and Superlative! Bravo!

oops. one channel was disconnected on my tv. of course it had to be the one with steel on it, according to murphy. makes a great play along track if you want a really great backup band. everything is there but the steel if you mute one stereo channel.

Gary, I was going to say that the steel comes though on my T.V. crystal clear. Marty is clearly promoting steel guitar. Especially on the Connie Smith segments.

Not sure if this is the place for this ? or not, but here goes. Has anyone else on Dish Network been having trouble DVRing Marty's show. We are gone on Sat. nights and I always DVR it. Anyone familiar with Dish's DVR know's how it skips shows already recorded. The title menu on Dish has had wrong info on it so the DVR thinks it is a re-run, when in reality they are new shows. Just curious if I'm the only 1 having trouble with this, before I call Dish. I told my wife Sunday AM, it's the only show I really want taped and it's jacked up. Mad Mad Any help would be appreciated. I Love Marty's show. The real deal! Very Happy Smile Very Happy

Ther Marty Stuart Show reminds me of The Buck Owens Ranch Show where steel guitar was prominently featured. Gary Carter is doing a magnificent job. Bravo Gary.

I've seen this happen on 2 major cable systems and Directv also. It appears that RFD is doing a poor job of keeping their guide updated. You might be able to program the DVR to record all episodes and then manually delete the ones you don't want, that has worked for me.

Roger, you might also take a look at your recording schedule for the day and and restore the skipped episode (by selecting the ep and pressing the "restore" button.)[/quote]

Hey Gary, I know for a fact the steel is mic'ed up (SM7). There have been times RFD has broadcast the show in mono, and the steel has disappeared in a pool of reverb. That drives everyone of us nuts when that has happened. I think the motto around the Marty camp is the same as Ralph Mooney's: "Turn Up The F***ing Steel"!!!
BTW- We just taped Kitty Wells and Hank III Tuesday, on the road in Arizona today-Saturday. Next week we got Ray Price as one of our guests, and I am REALLY excited about that one. I might have to take some pics and post them on here, if it''s possible.
Everybody have a great weekend!!

I don't get the show here, but I see videos from it occasionally and it is the real deal. I saw them do "Country Boy Rock & Roll" and it smoked!

Hey Paul,

Does Ray Price use a steel in his music? When you've been hanging around here for awhile, you'll know where I'm coming from. Smile Welcome aboard, enjoy your music. Hello to Marty. He and I worked with Bobby Smith and the Boy's from Shilo together once.

Rick,
I'm pretty certain Gary Carter will be steelin' for Ray. 'Ol Gary really plays his butt off I think. He really tries to go after the original performance. In fact, Marty asks us to go to the original versions of pretty much everything we do. Just think of some of the great players Ray has had over the years. I am betting there are many folks here that wouldn't even picked up the steel if it weren't Ray Price and his band.
