Hi there,

I've been enjoying the Forum for some time now and decided it was high time that I join. I think everyone else has had the same idea - I just looked at the member list and there've been 71 new memebers so far this month!

Anyway, I've been playing lap steel on and off for quite some time now. My pincipal instrument is viola da gamba, and I also dabble in standard guitar and lute.

I'm looking forward to interacting with you folks and expanding my knowledge of the non-pedal world.

ciao,
Laurence Pangaro

Laurence,

Welcome to the Forum. You've found the best of its kind in camaraderie and learning here, glad to have you aboard.

Equally impressed by your choice of instruments as well. Lap steel fits right in there!

Aloha,

Josh

Hey Josh,

Yeah, somehow I just don't feel like I'm playing the right instrument unless I have to explain what it is to most people.

So you're a NY guy. Do you play in the city sometimes?

ciao,
LP

Welcome, Laurence. I think we've met, haven't we? I don't meet many viola da gamba players....

James,

Hear some stuff?... I dunno. I'm not really set up to record here. Maybe at some point. I'll also have to learn how to post sound thingies.

Mike,

Yeah, we met at the NYC lap steel fest. I got to hear lots o' cool plying. I hope you'll keep me posted about your steel related activities here in the city. Nice to hear from you.

ciao,
LP

Laurence,

Yes I do play in the City quite often, tonight we played an event at the Grand Hyatt on 42nd.

But like most of our gigs, it was a private event.
