I made my first steel show last September in St. Louis, and it was great. I've had several Forum members say "just wait 'til Dallas". Well, I've made reservations.
In your opinion, is the Dallas show worth the 10 hour drive from Tennessee? Is it a bigger show? What can I expect?
Please advise, your input appreciated.

The Dallas Show was worth my 2 day trek from Oregon.
I can't say it's "BETTER"......but possibly more personable and user-friendly. You'll likely run into older acquaintances much quicker in Dallas.
Scotty and his family put on a great show, a BIG SHOW.....in St. Louis and I'm happy that I've got to make that trip twice now. But it's BIG, and BUSY! |

I attend both shows, and they are equally enjoyable in their own way. Dallas is not as big as St. Louis, but you will hear some different pickers in Dallas then in St. Louis, however, there will be some pickers you will see at both shows. I think you will like the Dallas show. I'm only 2 hours from St. Louis, and 12 hours from Dallas, but worth every mile. Larry B. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 3 & 5 The Eagle

The Texas show is worth every dollar I have ever spent there. No, it is not as big as the ISGC and there are no other states that are either. We are friendly here in Texas and love the steel guitar. Some cannot make it to St. Louis so the Texas show is closer. Come on down, you will not be disappointed. |

The Texas show is a 10 minute drive for me. I think the last time I went to the St. Louis show was 8-10 years ago.
So far I don't think I've missed anything major. Scotty and his crew come to the Dallas show, so I get to see them too! |

I live 900 mile from St Louis and 900 miles frm Dalas, I like St Louis better because we had a room in the hotel, It is a lot of trouble the live in another hotewl, most inconvient. Either one is worth at least 1 visit, You have people you have never seen come up and say I have been wanting to meet you, and he is from New Zeeland.
