Is it just me or does this Blackbird look a lot like old Greenfields?

They're not designed for lap playing, but probably wouldn't be hard to convert. Might be interesting to have a carbon graphite steel (pricey, though).

Anyone see/play one? (NAMM?)

Yeah, at $1495 it's kind of pricy. But kind of nifty. Notice the open area where the truss rod cover would be (between the first and 6th tuning pegs)? That's a soundhole. The neck is hollow.

Well I enjoy making my own Lap Steels and I'm going to take a closer look at this.

I always thought this design would make a great lap steel. I almost called them last year to ask if they would ever consider making a lap version... that would be veeeery cool!!
