Was chewing the fat with a shy and bashful, Forumite steel player earlier this evening and he was discussing the possibility of a group of fun-loving, steel guitar players (pedal and non pedal) from the Pacific Northwest banding together and making the jaunt down to TEXAS in March or whenever.........to attend the BIG SHOW!

This ideally would be a share the expenses, share the driving (rotating every hour!) fun-filled excursion, just like driving to a gig in the olden days way back when.

Any Nor'westerners tentatively interested?

Hey Ray.........you gotta make the trip. We need to see you there again this year. After all, who would help me spend my money and besides, who could forget your 'Lights Out' performance in the non-pedal room?????

Ray as I told you, everyone in the room I talked with enjoyed the "Lights Out" show. Glad Gerald had his "Micro-Cube"?, and "Capt. Edd's" playing also.
Hope you get a group to come down in March, look forward to hearing you again. Sure will miss seeing Rick again.

We have a great show here in Texas. I sure an happy it was not this week. This morning the temperature is 10 degrees and it has been bitter cold for a few days. Sunday it will start warming up and not fast enough for me.

Thanks Mr. Boards and others...........

Just talked to my 'potential host/sponsor' of the tentative Texas trip...and it looks like it's off for the Montee's.

Not enough potential RIDER interest and he has to book his airline flight ASAP if not among the hardy driving soles.

Therefore, we'll certainly miss not getting to make the trip south and not having the opportunity to meet with all my friends and newly acquired acquaintances.

I was hoping to get to try out some new guitars but, like who needs another 'new' guitar?

I'd be interested in making the trip.

I've been wondering: Why no steel guitar events in the Pacific Northwest? Seems like there are plenty of players. Anyone know of anything coming up?
