A lot of old stuff has been coming up on the Forum and You Tube and elsewhere but one show that no one seems to have an inside track to was the highly popular WSM Radio Show........TWO GUITARS......featuring Chet Atkins and JERRY BYRD.

Per chance does ANYONE of a casette of any of that programming?

I doubt they exist. I understood that they were live in the studio broadcasts, the radio station most likely didn't save them on tape. Many pre recorded shows survived because they were recorded on a transcription discs but I don't think that was the case with Two Guitars show. I wish I was wrong though. Smile

Jerry was not on all the programs.

An Internet friend sent me a CD containing
33 instrumentals from the Two Guitars
Program referred to in this thread. Not one
of the cuts feature Jerry..even in the
background.

So my take is that while Chet named the
program Two Guitars... that did not mean
he and Jerry in all cases. It could be
any other guitarist that he chose to
perform with him on the programsfrom time to time.

Jerry was no doubt a guest on some of them
but unfortunately not included on the CD that was
sent me.

However it is interesting to hear Chet in the
early part of his career. At the time he
had not developed the difinitve Atkins Sound
which we later came to recognize and love.

The JERRY BYRD FAN CLUB..........would be most grateful to receive some cuts from this show.

While we do NOT have every program that Jerry was featured on, we have many......for which we are very fortunate. Lovers of Jerry's music have been most generous in seeing to it that the last official fan club for Jerry.......has as much of his great playing as is possible.

We thank you.......
