"Sweet Memories"
From Conway to Vince Gill and on to the Time Jumpers, and anything else he did ,John Hughey was always one of my favorites. I am sure that I am not the only one who would agree with that. Although riddled with mistakes ,this is my tribute to John Hughey. This tune was really hard for me to play. Hope all that listens will look over all the mistakes and maybe think of John Hughey.....nobody plays this like him.....The title says it all.....

William,
Very nice job, you do that well! Your Emmons has a nice tone too. John was my favorite player of all times. Nice tribute.

Beautiful rendition, William. The emotion was written on your face. Couldn't tell for sure, but it looked to me that the crying guitar, might not have been alone. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

Hey William. I really enjoyed your playing on both of those.
That's the style I really enjoy, and I love the sound of your LG III.
I just wish mine sounded that good, and I could play half as good as you.
Players like you sure give me a lot of inspiration to keep at it.

I love it! You nailed the lower at 0:32. I can never make that sound right.
Tone is great too.
What are you using for reverb if I may ask? |

Wow, What over-welming comments guys. I thank you so much. I think that anyone who tries to play this song will agree that it is fairly difficult to get thru. I am glad that you all liked it and It is my hope that it somewhat pays tribute to one of the very best....John Hughey. Thanks again.....William
I am using just the Reverb thru the Nashville 1000 and a DD-3 Justin.......I wish I had a RV-3. |

William, let me add my compliments to your video. I have watched it several times and thoroughly enjoy it. I second the earlier comments on it and, like Greg says, I believe this one is your best yet. Mighty fine job William (hmm, I am a William also).
Many of us have posted tributes to our hero John.
Every one of them are played great and even with mistakes, John would love them all.
Why heck, John even made a mistake himself a couple of times in his career.
Take care,
Bill Ferguson |
