Well, the Super Pro is going back together. I finally got the aluminum parts looking pretty good, but if you look closely, you can still see lots of pits. The LH endplate was a much better casting than the rest of the parts, it turned out almost perfect (in Sho Bud terms). I think I need to buy stock in 3M and Chemtool, I have used a bunch of Dremel Scotchbrite wheels and spray brake cleaner just to get this far. Everything on the guitar was grimy and rusty, but it's going to look pretty good. I should have it finished in a few months.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

The cabinet was refinished by Mark Giles, who is a genius at finishing guitars. It was originally green, and had faded to a yucky looking brown. I didn't much like the original inlay either, so Mark changed it to the MOP, with a black stripe top & bottom. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

Darwin they tell me that if you use an abrasive on the alunimun, even 1 time it will cause pitting. Even Windex. So i don't know i allways used Windex for all clean ups. But lacquer bodies i can't beat Min-Wax paste wax. 1 can will do a life time. It leaves on a shine like you wouldn't believe. Jimmie
P.S. Just my thoughts. I'm sorry nice job to. I quit using Windex also. |

What an incredible craftsman Mark Giles is. He is so modest too.
That will be a beautiful guitar when you have finished it Darvin. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Telonics TCA-500, Webb 614-E, |
