There's an ad on the Austin on-line Classified Listings (CL for short) for a 1985 MSA Classic double neck for $1300 today and tomorrow only in cash at the guys home.

Anybody near Austin wanna take a look? It (edit>is apparently legit) might be legit but why in tarnation does this joe need the money on New Years Day? Claims he's going to buy a new MSA single neck because he's getting to old to carry the double. <snip> I might put it on a card if an experienced PSG man could do the foot work. If it's as good a deal as it seems etc. I'd pay you to do it too. Bank to Bank wire transfer.

Some forums it's illegal to post Classified Listing links so I'll not, but if you PM me I'll give you the link or you might find it yourself.

The normal finders fee to the forum of course applies.

"Cockeyed transaction?" "Too old to think?"

I'm familiar with the guitar and the seller, whom I've known for a very long time. He's a good guy and there's no need to speculate about him negatively. He's not advertising nationally, he's advertising locally for a local pickup. If the deal isn't to your liking, pass on it; but there's no need to denigrate someone you don't know.

Herb herb herb;
Forgive me man. Denigration of any person is not a habit I revere. If the seller lived in Reno I could not get my hands on the spectacular selling price on this weekend. That's all.

It's very good to know you know the instrument and the seller. I just wish I could pay pal the guy the dough and start the process of getting it home.

Would he accept a surrogate with the dough? That's what the cockeyed referred to. Me trying to find someone on the forum who could do the legwork for me. That means trusting me and me trusting my surrogate etc. He's not cockeyed I am, and maybe whoever is able to help me out. I am a member of Old Woodworking Machines forum. We do this stuff all the time. I wasn't clear. I'm very sorry.

His conditions are frustrating for somebody from out of town. They have got to be frustrating for people right in his home town. As I said, how many of us keep $1300 cash at home? I got plenty of money Herb. Really. Pedal Steel is a small community I think, even in Austin. I'm not absolutely sure but I think that guitar is probably the best deal available in the USA today. I'm just sorry nearly everyone is locked out of it. What in the world is the hurry? A bank to bank wire transfer would be good Monday, but HIS ad restricts nearly all options.

To anyone who has taken offence at my extremely poor choice of words please accept my most heartfelt apology. I hope I haven't added to them with this post.
