Here's something I use to warm up on E9th and I normally palm block it. I've got a neat beginner E9th tab and a few neat things I picked up from Chalker on the Wilburn brothers show and a few "C6th on E9th " tabs left to post this week so stay tuned.

Thanks Greg. We really appreciate all the info you share here.
One small correction:
A note is missing from your tab, that is on the recording.
There should be a G on the 8th string, after the sixth string pedal release.
Happy 2010! |

Joey, I patched this up!
I was missing the note you mentioned (actually I typed the "3" onto the wrong string) plus I was missing the pedal B action on string 6 after that. Thanks for finding that and thanks for WMP slowing it down to 50% so I could figure out exactly what I played.

Hey Greg, what right-hand fingering do you use for this exercise? |

Bryan,
I wondered about that too.
Here's what works best for me:
Some would debate my excessive use of the thumb.
Lookin forward to Greg's response... |

Without looking Joey's response, I went and played it and got the same sequence every time. My results are posted above.
I can play it just as well by replacing the Index finger with the Middle finger. Somedays I can play faster with the Index and other days the Middle finger is faster. Either way it's much easier for me use the thumb thumb sequence a lot. Not a big deal but if you REALLY speed it up from what I played it, my fingering approach would possibly not be as good. At that point I would go to all three fingers or the crossover technique or pick blocking.
