Have any of you Transtube Fex owners tweaked the Dobro settings to something that is a little more realistic. I have a preset that sounds decent, but would like to have something a little more dobro sounding.

I tried the Jack Stoner preset but couldn't get anything out but just a straight steel sound. Maybe Jack can comment and offer some suggestions. I copied the presets as they are in his manual TB>RV>NG>

I know I should just probably go buy a BoBro or something, but If I could get a decent sound with what I'm using would be great.

Wife says I don't need anything else for Christmas.......Thanks Eddie

Eddie, I tweaked Jack's Dobro setting and got a good Dobro patch. Both units are on different gig's across Town so I can't tell you exactly what I changed. I do remember I added the tube-side and a limiter. I had certian frequencies that really jumped out. The limiter now takes care of that. However, how they're placed in the chain makes all the difference in the world. So this post is really no good to anyone. Except to say I found Jacks patch workable. I may have renamed it.It's been 3 or more years since I tweaked it. But I think the one I used is called Dobro Simulator. Good for live gigs.Sounds best with 2 speaker cabs. The right and the left are not mixed the same. However I wouldn't use it in the studio. That's what Dobros and SuperBros are for. Smile
