| Well made guitars, good tone, play well, good customer service, a legend builder, but I don't care for the Carter guitars. I've had a S-10 and a D-10 and they are not for me! |

I've found them very easy to play. You can forget about the guitar and think about the music instead. Also, they sound great. Top notch instruments, in my opinion.

I recieved my D-10 Carter a little over a year ago and it is a fine Guitar. Plays well, stays in tune, sound great in the studio!

I am now on my 3rd Carter D10, I have owned and played Sho-Buds, MSA, Emmon's, all fine guitars, but this is the Steel that I still own.
Several friends who play other brands have sat in on my Steel and have all scratched there head saying.."I had no idea these guitars were this nice"...

The Carters are a superbly-engineered, beautifully-crafted marriage of cabinetry, luthiery and precision engineering.
They play easily, have great tone, stay in tune, don't break strings, don't weigh a ton, assemble and tear-down quickly, and changes to the copedent are easy to make.
There are a huge range of colours and finishes, optional wooden necks, special custom shoppe steels by special order, and you can get 'em with Alumitone pickups as standard.
The only problem I have with Carter steels is I only have one - and it isn't enough!
 Sure is purty, though!

Great solid guitars, most professionally built, of consistent quality, serviceable at a most realistic price, all from a company with an impressive track record of personable customer service no mater who the customer is or is not.
I have had two built and never ever regretted my choice. I think they are a suitable instrument for players of any level.

Let me put it this way,even though I have been playing a Williams since 2006 I would buy another Carter without hesitation.
The action is perfect,pulls all return true and they just feel good right out of the box.
I have bought and sold four since 1996 and wished I still had them.
Bud,John and Ann were always helpful and if I popped in unannounced they took time to help me in whatever way they could.

I've had 3 Carters and still have one, the main thing that sticks out to me is the consistency. They are all very much the same. I love mine.
Ned, I love that guitar, it is BEAUTIFUL !!

For starters, that is a very beautiful steel you have NED. i bet your proud of that one. heres the thing guys, i have already ordered one like the one in the pic, but that one in the pic has a jeweled neck and i wasnt big the jeweled necks but other than that, thats what it will look like with the polished package and the chrome front. im very proud of it. i havent got it yet, still have about two months before ill recieve it. i just wanted to reasure myself that i made the right decision. i cant thank you all enough for your comments, it means alot to me.
To be honest with you all im still new to the steel. i have only been playing since last march. this is my first new steel. right now i have the starter and its been good to me but i feel i need to move on and the starter did exactly what it was supposed to do. even though their not pros, they are still not a bad one to learn on. Yes i agree i think Carter has Great customer service. i spoke with Ann when i ordered it and she has been great. So thanks to all of you agian for your Help and your thoughts.

Oh and just wanted to say that Chuck Rich helped me with my decision on buying the Carter so i have to give him some thanks aswell. he plays on a Franklin and if any of you have ever meet Chuck im sure you will agree with me when i say, Chuck is a great guy and an amazing steel player. hes been great help to me. Thanks Chuck!

This is exactly the look of my Carter, exept I have the BL 716 as Pickups in it.... You will love it... On stage with some good light... you have a eyecatcher!!!
it's a great steel, stays in tune and have tone to the bones! And I have to say that, Carter have a different feel when you them then most other guitars... I like that feel allot....

Hi Ryan, nice choice. Congratulations! I really like that chrome front. I'm sure you'll be very satisfied with your new guitar.
I've never owned a Carter, but I always sit them when I go to St. Louis convention. They feel like home to me...like I could take one right out of the box and play it on a gig, no problem.
Very comfortable, nice size and weight.
I'm assuming you're in northern Ky. if you are in contact with Chuck Rich. What a fab player. You're fortunate if you get to hear him play and rub shoulders with him.
When you're down Louisville way, give us a call. We have a little steel guitar club here that meets once a month. Be glad to have you join us.

| Ryan, Carter had an identical guitar to yours at the TSGA show in Dallas last year, chrome front and Alumitone p/ups and it was such a great sounding easy playing guitar I was sorely tempted to buy it. Alas I have too many Steels already. Also John and Ann are such nice people to deal with. |

| Hey thanks guys, yes mine will have the Alumitone. Ann at carter said that was the better choice for a carter right now so she talked me into it. i was gonna get the george L's but she convinced me of the alumitone so thats what i went with. JERRY, yes i see Chuck about once a week down at Bobbie Mackeys where he plays Friday and Saturday nights. he is awsome and i feel honored every time i see him and to be able to bs with him every time i go there. Great guy and thanks for the invite i just might i have to come down there and visit. i do live in northern Ky. |
