Hey Paul!. this is a really cool vid! Every once in awhile I get to do a gig with a band like this and they are always a blast! The singer looks like he would be a great guy! And it goes without saying that I always love to hear you pick!...I always learn something! If you have any more of these please post em! And by the way....Merry Christmas to you ....all the best in 2010! |

Corky,
Thanks for the nice words......I did not post this. It was posted by Dave Peterson (the singer) under my name. I'll ask him if he has anymore clips to post. It was a fun gig to remember.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I would play for free the rest of my life if i could find a band that played "Real Country" like Dave!
Paul, what i love the most is seeing you have so much fun and really for me playing some of your best steel ever!
Thanks Dave for the post and since i bought the CD you did, i've almost wore a grove in it as we say from the album days!
all the best!

Hello all,
Paul told me a while back to post under his name if I had any interesting steel and country music things. Here's one I've posted before. It features some outstanding Pedal Steel playing from Paul. It is my great honor and privilege to play with musicians of this caliber. Paul - I hope you have a merry Christmas as well as the rest of the forum.

Thanks for posting this. The band is great and what incredible steel guitar!! David has a wonderful voice and reminds me a bit of the late Don Walser only much smoother.
This is my kind of music!! _________________ "Shoot low boys, the're ridin' Shetlands" |

I was fixing to post the one that Paul posted.....I love the person who commented that now he is "not so sure"...
That Peterson guy...wow.. he missed his era about 50 years....he is amazing...I just might have to buy a CD of his and stop wearing out my Webb Pierce stuff. He is the most real thing I have heard in a while.
Edit. I checked out his CDs. I like these live cuts better. |

I have posted before that I was in the audience for that show. The show was at the Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. during the IBMA bluegrass doings. Many bluegrassers complained, before the show, that the steel and other electric instruments did not belong at this bluegrass doings. Well, don't you know? Sitting right down front, near me, were some of those same people that had complained............. Yep, some of those same complainers who ended up being part of the standing ovation that Dave and Paul got.
I've got that show imbedded in my memory. It was great.....Dave is a great bluegrass/country singer and with Paul on the steel, well, it couldn't have gotten any better. Thanks Dave, Paul and the rest of the band for allowing me to enjoy your show.
