James, do you get signal thru the pedal? Can you turn the amp down and get a good signal only with no volume control thru the pedal? Please explain what you mean that the amp screams. If the shaded panel has come loose, it is an easy fix.

Thanks for the responses guys. I removed the cover from the pedal and experimented with the infra red plastic thingies by using a piece of black plastic when suddenly the pedal began working again. I used the pedal for the next five hours and everything was fine. When I got to the gig last night I plugged in the pedal and got the same screaming high pitched howling that I had before and had to get the Emmons out again.Jerry,I'm not getting any signal thru the pedal just high pitched squealing, any suggestions? Hi Dave, yes, I did speak to Mark but only after I had fixed it in the first place. |

James, does this part look to be intact? I have seen a couple of times that the silicone attaching the film had turned loose and another when the joint of the pieces of plexiglas had broken loose.

Jerry, I've just had a look at the perspex thingy again with the aid of a magnifying glass and noticed that the smokey thin plastic sheet attached to the separator was loose at the top. I've used a small piece off sellotape to hold it in place. I've put it all back together and found with the aid of a torch that the separator when the pedal is depressed doesn't appear to be in the centre of the two plastic pillars and I'm wondering if the thin film of plastic is catching the side of one pillar. I think the plastic unit is adjustable I'll have to dismantle it again to check.I don't get my guitar back until tomorrow so can't test it yet, I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for your help. |

Hey, Jamie, I've just been listening to you on Utube with Leona and Georgette, tasty playing mate and what a great sound and aren't you lucky to have a live drummer - a rare breed in this country. I have isolated a fault on the circuit board and I've mailed Keith to let him know and like you Jamie I'm using my pot pedal at the moment. I have to say that I much prefer the Hilton ( when its working properly ) just seems to have that extra bite and clarity. By the way, are you still playing with Caroline these days? |

Jim - Keith is very helpful. I had a problem with my Hilton just a month after I got it. The cure was dead simple and quick once Keith told me how to do it.
Have a good Christmas mate.

Hi Ken, Thanks for that. I'm still waiting to hear from Keith. I know he's a busy man or he might have taken an early vacation! Have a great Xmas and hope to see you at the next meeting. |
