| Does anyone know of a good Mac-friendly tab editing program? Free would be nice if it exists. I've done a slew of arrangements recently and I don't want to forget 'em. Is there software out there where you play into a mic and the software figures out the music notation? |

| Thanks, I'm somewhat familiar with TableEdit - I tried it and it had trouble wrapping my head around it. Thanks to AJ Azure, I just found out about TuxGuitar - a free program that looks like it'll work. Appreciate your taking time to respond, Michael. |

Andy,
I've had the best luck just recording the sound files and then tabbing them in Excel. Once you get the basic format down, you can quickly create new tabs. The format is extremly flexible but you won't be getting music notation, just tabs. I owuld be happy to get you started if you decide to go that route. Acutally any spread sheet program will work just fine, including open office.

| Thanks kindly but Tux seems to work for me and it has the bonus of having both tab and standard notation as well as being able to play back the music, even by individual measures. Regular tab sans notation doesn't help you understand rhythms and inflections. |
