It is with a heavy heart that I must report that Clyde Bloodworth's wife Joyce died Sunday morning of pancreatic cancer. Clyde and Joyce have been close friends of ours for the past 42 years. They had moved a few years ago from Georgia to Chancellor Alabama. They have attended all the St Louis steel shows and Clyde played at the Saluda show as well as many others. There will be a viewing at the Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva, AL Wed evening with funeral services Thursday at the Providence United Methodist Church 4693 State Hwy 85, Chancellor, AL.

I knew Joyce had been ill with this, but it's always a shock. Clyde has been a buddy of mine since back in the sixties and we have known Joyce for several years too. Our prayers go out to Clyde and his family. We saw Joyce last June at a show in Gulfport and I had no idea then she was not well.

P.S. Chuck, you were talking about Clyde playing Saluda many times. He has also played many other steel shows including the HOF show on Thursday in St. Louis a few years ago. He and I played side by side for 3 hours at that show.

Very sad news indeed. My heart is heavy for you Clyde...and while I wish I could just reach out and mend the heart that I know is broken to pieces, I know God's hand is on your shoulder my friend and Joyce is there beside him. Our hearts are with you Clyde and our prayers are constant. God bless you

Clyde and Joyce have been family friends for over 40 years. My brother was best friends with one of Clyde's sons growing up in Virginia and said that Joyce was like a second mother to him. She was truly loved by all and I will miss seeing her at the TSGA shows she attended with Clyde.

Pam and I send our deepest sympathies to Clyde and the entire Bloodworth family.
