Hi Randy
Nice looking steel Randy. I am no longer in to push pull Emmons - two weak to handle them these days. I have a satin black 1969 D10, fat back. This guitar is 100% original. The only issue with it - it came without knee levers but somebody down the road , long ago attempted to put knee levers on it. It looked like an apprentice blacksmith attempted it so I have taken all that out of the guitar and I have two factory levers from my friend Al Brisco which I was going to put onto it plus I am going to duplicate two more in my shop. I've been quite sick with heart problems so I never completed the job but other than that Randy the guitar, like I say, is a very nice piece with every screw and nut is original. I was wondering if you would be interested in buy it. Denny Mohan (the "BIG D") phone no: 1-250-245-0892 |

Talked with Randy Gillam about this guitar and so long ago he does not remember who bought it. I would be interested in talking with whom ever bought this guitar, whether it's for sale or not, I would like to ask some questions about how it plays with the changer that it has on it. Would really appreciate talking with the new owner of this great guitar. Thanks in advance.

I ended up with this Guitar, Dennis Wireman traded it to Loren Bayles in Newton, Iowa and I traded a Mullen PreRP to Loren for it. _________________ Mullen Discovery, GK mb200 with Eminence EPS-15C, Fender steel King with Eminence EPS-15C,Nashville 400 amp, with EPS-15C,Evans FET500 with Peavey 1501 BW Goodrich L10K V.P.(2),Goodrich L120, Bose L1 PA with ToneMatch 4 Mic control board |

Tom,
That was Denny Mohan, who sadly has since passed away. As far as I know, the only other steel he owned was a Carter. I bought that '69 Emmons from him shortly before his passing and it now belongs to my good friend, Larry Behm.
Perhaps the white teakwood Emmons SKH went to Dennis Wireman?? _________________ Best regards,

I've always thought that in the Emmons timeline the SKHs were LeGrandes and they were followed by the Lashley Legrande. I guess there were transitional models, too... _________________ Olli Haavisto

There were a few SKH guitars built with Lashley style changer after the model change. Actually my favorite configuration. The color is white teakwood. |

Thanks Jack.
While we're at it, were there any differences between the (lkh) Lashley Legrande and and the LL II ? Or was just to make a distinction between the SKH Legrande and the Lashley Legrande, with the arrival of the III?
Thanks.... _________________ Olli Haavisto

Others can probably answer this better than me. Here's what I know. The SKH has a shorter body hence the shorter key head, the early ones were four hole bell cranks and the later ones had the same set up as the Legrande with a newer changer and 14 hole bell cranks. Jack Strayhorn built all of them I think.
