Very nice Herb. We're having a rehearsal for some Christmas shows we'll be doing and this is one of the songs. Mind if I "steel" a lock or two?
Very smooth and I like the subtle low strings you bring in. |

Herb that was a beautiful solo! Wow!
What kind of g'tar were you playing? It had 'sounds' much like that of an early day GIBSON console but I doubt that was what you were playing here. Would you mind telling us 'more'?
THAT ENDING.........was simply great! Truly impresseive! I can't get it over it. So well engineered and executed. |

I recorded the tune with a trusty ol' 65 Emmons wraparound, into a Digitech Genesis 3 modeler, then right into my computer. The track was made with BIAB, and recorded with Kristal Audio Engine, my usual record program.
It's on the standard C6 tuning, D note on s.1, using pedals 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and a knee lever raising s.4 A-Bb.

Herb: I too want to comment on that ending. I've heard it before but I like your clarity and execution equally as well as Curly's. Thanks for giving it a beautiful airing and that old 65 is an inspiration to hear especially at this time of the year. That song can reduce me to tears at least once every year since I first became related to it in Korea, 1952. Christmas on a mountain top, on the other side of the world, followed a week later with the loss of Hank Williams will really catch your heart and soul off guard !!
