Joe,
I realize you sometimes look at this forum. And I'd like to publicly commend you on your outstanding Steel Guitar work during last nights Midwest Country Show. Everything I heard you play sounded fantastic. Very tasteful licks, fills, and kickoffs on every song. You made Alex, Angie and Joe McPherson all sound like real pros. And btw, that new blue Williams is one hell of a great sounding guitar. You're a real inspiration to many of us on this forum that watch you on TV every week. Thank you for what you do. Keep up the great work! I for one really appreciate your talents and efforts. . . .

I agree wholeheartedly, Joe's playing often adds much needed sparkle to some otherwise lackluster performances. |

Joe, the next time you see Alex Parenteau, tell him Tony Farr said hello. He came down here and did a couple of album with me some time back. I had his phone number but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. I think he's one great singer. He always had a big booming voice and could realy sing any of Ray Prices songs. Tony |

Hey Nick....thanks man. I appreciate the nice comments! I'm really enjoying the Williams. It's the first guitar I've ever had made for me. I like the smaller size. A bit shorter in length than other guitars I've had. Seems to fit my body better. I don't have to stretch so far for the LL knees.
Mike....you are the perennial "Perennial Sideman" booster.....what can I say....Thanks. It's not for everyone musically, but I'm proud of it.
BTW, I will soon have another CD finished that's more oriented to the "Midwest Country" audience. Doing a mix/master session Tuesday.
Tony....will do! Alex is one hell of a singer, I agree.
David, Pete and Brad....Thanks guys!!! My website is grossly in need of an update schedule-wise, but thanks for the link.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. _________________ Joe Savage

'Perennial Sideman' is among my favourites too. I am collecting most interesting steel guitar music (in my opinion) to one hour radio show called Slide-Show (at Estonian Radio). Joe Savage is must have there, (as Otto and Mike Perlovin's excellent work). I purchased almost everything I found at CD Baby or here in SGF catalog. Hope to educate listeners with steel guitar history and to use examples from different eras and styles. Mostly this kind of work educates myself. _________________ GFI Ultra SD-10, BearCreek Weissenborn, Herrmann style 4 Weiss, Ã…berg W2 Weiss, Hermann Baritone Weiss, National Polychrome Tricone, Fender Champ Lapsteel, Epiphone Electar Century 8-string, Quiter Micropro Mach 2 HD, Nashville 112, Zirconia bars, Bob Perry picks... |
