I played my Shobud Peofessional for 35 years, Never had a problem was never worked on Except to add Knee Levers, when bought in Feb. 1972 it had 1 knee lever, Bill Ray in Jacksonville, Shobud factory outhorised repair man added the knees.
Those old babies were trouble free.

I have had the same MSA bought in 1973 and it is still going strong and has been all over the world. I still play it and it still works just fine for it's age but i'm not so sure about me. It is heavy but also very stable. |

I'd be more interested to know which steels had the shortest tenure before they were moved on |

I've been playing my Bigsby 4-neck 53 years; since purchasd in 1956. Never heard a grunt or groan from this little guitar that has more than paid for itself during my years of playing clubs, dance halls, radio and televisiion.
I've relied on my Emmons dbl-10 for 37 years, since purchased new from the factory in 1972. Been played hard and it's never let me down throughout all of these years. |

I played my ShoBud LDG from 1977 until March of 2009 when I retired it to the studio. It's been overhauled 3 times, twice by Bud Carter,& once by Jeff Surratt(last November). I paid $1100 for it,I think I got my moneys worth! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/davidagriffin |

I played my 1974 student model Emmons from 1999 to 2004-so that was five years. In December of 2004, I bought the steel guitar known as "Redgold Beauty" my GFI Ultra D-10 and I've been playin' it for five years, and she's still a wonderful guitar. In 2010, "Redgold Beauty" will have a friend- a Jackson Blackjack Custom.

Fender dual 8 for the last fifteen years. Found in it the back of a music shop all taken apart, painted with orange house paint, tweed case painted black with the name "Bob King" scratched in the side. Took it home, stripped it, refinished with aquamarine-colored stain, slapped it back together and she hasn't let me down since.
Tape under the control plate read October '54, can't remember the gal's name who signed it.
edit "Tom King," not Bob King
