Dear folks,
With Christmas less than a month away, I would be delighted if you would like to give my debut lap steel album "Hedgehogs and Elephants" as a gift this year - perhaps to several members of your family and friends! So I am offering discounted shipping on all orders of more than one CD right up until Christmas. Basically, shipping for all the additional CDs will be free. If someone was to order a large amount of CDs (hint, hint ) further discounts may be considered. If you would be interested in this, simply e-mail me at info AT fredkinbom.com and tell me how many CDs you would like.
Many thanks for supporting independent music!
For orders of one CD only, the place to go is www.fredkinbom.com/products.html.
I wish you all a very nice holiday season and a very happy lap steeling 2010!
All the best,

A new review in Swedish roots/world/folk/jazz magazine Lira:
Literal translation:
"LAPSTEELIANA. Following a meeting with a Hawaii-loving drunkard on a bus in Brighton, Kinbom swapped his traditional guitars for acoustic lap steel. His music took a completely new direction. Those who expect familiar slide playing à la blues or country will have to look elsewhere. Kinbom's music finds nourishment from many disparate sources. It can be Arabic notes, klezmer, African or Nordic sounds, Tom Waits feel or jazz quirkiness. More Bob Brozman than Greg Leisz, if one puts it that way.
"It is often dreamy and minimalist. Atmospheric, cinematic. I can hear his playing accompany a slow independent film and I can imagine future collaborations with M Ward or why not Andrew Bird. He alternates between deeply sung Swedish and English lyrics and surrounds himself with sensitive musicians on instruments like double bass, accordion and German church bells. It is melancholic but not depressing; pleasant but not without grit. A Tjalle Tvärvigg [comic strip character Snuffy Smith] who with technique and feeling conjures beauty from a little wooden box upon his lap." _________________ www.fredrikkinbom.com - New lap steel album out now - listen here: fredrikkinbom.bandcamp.com/album/songs-for-lap-steel-and-harmonium
