For those of you who use your Pod for effects only:

How do you set up your parameters to allow reverb and delay only?

I have the Pod 2.0 and I don't see any way to bypass all the other settings (amp/cab/tone controls, etc).

I have a POD XT and use it for effects only. I have some downloadable POD XT programs on my web site. You can try one of those and see if it will work with the 2.0. No guarantee that it will even load but still worth the try.

That's too bad also from me.
Jack downloaded his programs into my PodXT at his home and they are great.
I also use them for recording.

The POD XT is the "desireable" model for Steel. The 2.0 is great for guitar but not steel.

Jack,

I downloaded the xt editor and was able to see how your programs are set up. I can also see the difference in how the parameters are laid out for the xt as opposed to the 2.0.

Thanks for sharing your settings!

Thanks, guys.

Steve are you able to adapt the XT program for the 2.0?

Setting the POD 2.0 model switch to "Tube Preamp" gives you the simulation of a tube mic input channel. It defaults to "no cabinet" simulation.

I've used this in an amplifier effects loop with good results for guitar. Haven't tried it yet for steel. It's interesting to have a compressor after the preamp, like the old Lab Series.

Same as Rich. I used the original Pod Pro, Tube preamp with pedal steel as a stand alone in front of a Mosvalve power amp and along with a NV400 too. The tube pre is pretty benign unlike many of the guitar/amp model presets and works pretty well for steel.

I could never figure out a way to use just the effects settings alone without a preamp. Maybe the later versions are different.

Yeah, it's easy on the PodXT...just hit the AMP button and it turns off the amp sim.

Jack,
I was only able to look...seems there are too many differences in the options and parameters. I can certainly see where the xt would be better suited for steel.

I've done as Rich & Jerry have so far, using the tube pre-amp setting, and it's working quite well! The editing software allows more options with the reverb and delay settings. I'm planning on using the Pod for home practice only through the winter months.

If I find an xt for as good of deal as I found the 2.0, I'll grab it, but for now I'm very content with my stage setup(s).

I use a Pod Pro (I got from Jerry Overstreet) with a Lexicon MX200 for reverb and so on. I've only used it in the studio running direct and it sounds good. I hadn't tried the Tube amp setting with a amp/power amp. My steel has humbuckers and I think single coils would work better with the pod 2.0. How are the eq's different from the pos 2.0 and the xt?
