I was thinking about a gig that I did several years back that was booked with strings attached
I was playing bass at the time and the singer that they had booked was a well a drunk you might say, we had played with him for several years off and on and he would never make it though the night without me or someone else doing the last set of the night.
Now heres the bet. they agreed to pay 1200.00 for a new years eve band not bad money for a 4 piece band but it was stated that if the singer did not make the night there would only be 400.00. so heres what we did. we knew the waiter that was going to be working that night and she and us came up with a plan that every time he wanted a beer, or drink of any kind she would water it down after he had his first three so he would not notice to much, she could not share this with the owner for his plan was to not have to pay out that 1200.00. so we told her that if this worked we would pay her 60.00 that was 20.00 each. well we pulled it off the singer was still standing at the last set and even he thought he was getting better at holding his beer lol the owner was not happy but still payed out as promised

Believe it or not, I was in a band that actually tried plan B and it worked. In our case, we got a significant weekly raise out of it. Surprised
