Gert Geluykens (www.surfingairlines.com) has offered to book my band Gas Money (rockbilly, alt country, roots) for a tour in the Netherlands and Belgium. If we pay our air fare, he provides several bookings, a tour van, backline equipment, two meals a day, and overnight accomodations. We won't be expecting any serious cash for the gigs, but we don't want to get stranded with no gigs, no equipment, and no sleeping accomodations. Does anyone in Europe know how dependable this guy is? Does this deal sound realistic?

hi david,
i'm trying to figure out on this, and what i see on there website they do the managing for a lot of other bands but i never hear of those bands (maybe its not my music choice)

but what i think is you must contact the guy again and lets ask him about what is keepin up in the contract and how many gigs you have or can do and so on how many clubs

i think you should ask him al those questions before and find out yourself.

but in my opinion i never heard from this music management.

so if you need more help or something to figure out.

let me know

my best

Yes all the last holds true.

If Johan doesn't know him, he is a small fish,
even so It could be a good tour.

But get a contract with ALL particulars spelled out.

Including how, where and when you will paid,
and if temperary work permits are being gotten for you ALL.

They are usualy very good about contracts here for almost any gig.
And food is included for most gigs too. At least one meal like dinner every evening and a continental breakfast.
Lunch you may or may not be on your own.

And yes plane tickets inculded, if he can't spring for the plane ticket, he is small potatoes.

Thanks, guys. We are still looking into this. This guy contacted us after seeing our web site. He is obviously small potatoes, but so are we. We have sent him a bunch of CDs for him to shop us around. He's talking about a 10-day tour. If we can confirm a reasonable number of the gigs, we might be willing to pay our own airfare, just for the adventure, and maybe tack on a few days sight-seeing time at the end. When I find out anything concrete, I'll let all of you know. The tour would probably be in April.

A few years ago I went to a scientific meeting in Den Hague. I had a great time there and in Amsterdam. If this is for real, I'm going to get this guy to try to book us in other countries and extend the tour a little. Sure would be nice to experience April in Paris. Hey that's a great name for a song...oh wait, never mind.
