I agree with Roland's post and tried to reply to Skip's thread(which was deleted) and got the bold message below.
This "sysop's" arbitrary use of his "power and authority", and "political correctness" will lead the the further and final demise of our once great forum.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,
Bob

Bob, I agree also. I posted on Skips thread also and it all disappeared. I wished everyone a Merry CHRISTmas and asked that please no one wish me a merry xmas. I don't recall knowing anyone named x. Really,I think at times this "abbreviation" is used without thought but it really saddens me to see it.

I agree also! There is a time and a place for everything and NOW happens to be that time. Merry CHRISTmas to everyone. The real reason for the season! |

I still don't completely understand what got Roland's post closed and my post deleted. Maybe the one that pushed the button can be good enough to explain to me why "Merry CHRISTmas" is so politically incorrect to this Forum's moderator(s). Thanks and God bless you and yours.

Well as usual I missed the post that got whacked. Personally I don't give one hoot about being "politically correct" and could care even less about "correct spelling or punctuation". At any rate a very Merry CHRISTmas to each and every one of you.

Guys it doesn't surprise me about someone closing the post about the greatest gift to mankind ,we should expect that . Some people say they are believers but their actions tell us different !!!It seems ok to talk about some of the experiences in a barroom and laugh about it and thats ok but not the other way around . There should be a common ground for us all . ( At least thats my openion ) . But please don't take
me wrong i really like the Steel Guitar Forum and B0b is to be complimented for his efforts . Thanks B0b for the Steel Guitar Forum . Here you can get a lot of help when you have some kind of problem with the steel or amp . I am thankful for that . So in conclusion ,keep up the good work guys and if we are going beyond our boundry here we apologize ,thanks and God bless . Gary . |

Christmas is about giving. God gave us His perfect Gift, out of love. Pretty paper(might make a song, huh?) and material worth notwithstanding, give love---not just during the Christmas season, but all year long! It's never the wrong size, or the wrong color---and EVERYBODY likes it! Help somebody less fortunate---You don't even need to get your hands dirty, give to a local mission, or the Salvation Army---Tell a family member who's down, or at whom you may be angry, how much you love them. Ed Naylor shows his love through his animal rescue efforts. Don't flip somebody the bird, if they cut you off in traffic---and maybe, just MAYBE, you won't see the bird the next time YOU cut somebody off in traffic!
I have made some wonderful friends in the steel guitar community, in a short time. People like Buddy Walker(rest in His love, my Brother), Charles Reece, Donna and Tommy Dodd, Brett Day, my number one dude Mike Bagwell, Bobbe Seymour, and countless others, and have become acquainted with hundreds more, through this Forum. And I'd like to wish you ALL a Merry Christmas, and a love-filled New Year! May God shine His love on us all, even when we don't deserve it.

In the Spanish language, 'mas' translates to "more" in English...the word for less is 'menos'....therefore Christ-mas literally means Christ-more OR more Christ...notice it doesn't read Christmenos...hmmm...Christmas!and let's keep it that way. We (the silent majority) must be mas vocal. Therefore, to all the great folks I've met through this forum and by playing some of the shows, a great big MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!!! |
