Anyone know of a steel player from Lubbock (actually from Levelland I think) named Howard Isaacs? I played guitar for Bob McRee at the Village Inn in the late 60s and Howard played a mid 60s Emmons. I was not into PSG at all back then,,,,like most guitar players I saw PSG players as just in the way,,LOL. Anyone know of Howard,,,or Bob???? |

I think Howard went into some kind of private business there in either Levelland or maybe Hockley. Haven't heard anything about him in years. Too bad too.

I think he was a body man the best I remember,,,I don't remember being particularly impressed by his steel playing,,but then as I said,,I wasn't really into PSG a lot then, even though I had just returned from a couple of years in San Antonio where Jimmy Day and I had crossed paths on several occasions (needless to say, Jimmy didn't remember much about those days, as he and I laughed about in later years,,LOL),,,so I was aware of "real" PSG. |
