I have a new Emmons steel I bought from a freind that is brand new and I went to shorten the legs 1" and when I pressed the threaded ends back in the chrome split and pealed.I noticed the pipe spread and that is why the chrome split and pealed. I did a Fessenden I had and I had no such problem. Has anyone else had this problem. Now I have to buy four new legs and order them 1" shorter than standard.I think it is ashame that i spent all this money for this steel and something like this had to happen. Any Idears what i should do.I can't blame my freind but I do blame who ever made the damn legs.Poor workmanship in my book.
