I got my 700 in May, and every single day since then is like Christmas morning! Four days after I had major surgery I walked (slowly!) the 900 feet to my studio and played a little. Best money I ever spent, best friend I ever had, prettiest companion I ever played around with, etc. Ten million different tones and still counting...

I know, I know. I am so lo-tech. This computer is a 'work model', i dont own one, so I have to rely on others to do my dirty work. My computer savy friend took pics, but hasnt e-mailed them to me yet. What a ding-dong. Im gonna get on the horn and tell him to hurry up before the newness wares off.

How do you rate the Alumatone in your Williams 700 guitars to the std True Tone in the Williams 700 Is it cleaner better overall balance??? Would you advise the switch to Alumatone?

I got a George L E-66 in my Williams 700 because I play and record in a lot of places with excessive electromagnetic fields, and I wanted a humbucker to buck the hum. Plus I got a wooden body and a wooden neck, and I play without picks, so I wanted to add a little treble to the (otherwise too fat and mellow?) mix.

Can't compare it to anything else except the single coil that came stock on my old MSA Classic in 1974, but it certainly makes everybody really happy. Crystal-clear highs, rich mellow lows, and everything in between, with all the sustain I could ask for. The variety of possible tones seems incredible, as I have mentioned many times before in other posts. I am curious what other pickups might sound like, but I am so happy with this one that I doubt I will ever find out...

That does it! From what Barry, Ryan and others have said and the research I've done, the Williams goes to the top of the list for my next guitar. I love the how the changer holds the strings(is that a Williams exclusive?) must be very easy to change strings. Oh... and they are beautiful!!

Congrats Ryan on your new axe. Where are the pics?? Your avatar is killin' me Laughing Its like a full length movie - it's got a beginning, a middle and a ...I'm not even going to say it.
