Wiz, or anybody.
I bought David Hartley's C-D of 297 tracks, and I can't figure out how to get them into my computer.
The usual tricks don't work, (I actually have two separate computers in this hook up). Windows Media Player says RIP, but nothing ever happens.
As you can tell...I may be able to use BIAB and Power Tracks...but the simple stuff throws me.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Bill,
There might be slight compatibility issues here. I am not sure yet.
I will explain how I did it. Maybe I did something wrong, or maybe there is a compatibility issue with my CD player.
- I extracted (ripped) some tunes and then burned those onto a CD. This operation was done with "CD BurnerXP" - a free program I have used successfully many times.
When I tried to play this CD with my usual player(a Sony Radio/CD player) it would not play these tracks.
It has played oodles of mp3 tracks before and after this CD without a hitch.
I then tried to play this same CD on my home stereo. It would play from the #1 song just fine. If I punched in song #6 it would hang for a minute or more and never find or play the song
I then tried to play it on my Sony DVD player - the one that is hooked up to my TV. There, everything worked slick as anything.
The reason I think there might be compatibility issues is because my Sony Radio/CD player is older, so is my home stereo CD player.
The puzzling part of this whole thing is that the old Sony Radio/CD has always played burned mp3 files for the last3 years, but this time not. _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Here is one way. Put the cd in, open my computer, then right click on the cdrom or burner that has the cd. Open the cd, simply drag the files off the cd onto the desktop. If they are individual files make a folder first and drag them to the folder and copy. That should do it. Winston May |

Winston, yes, I have gotten that far. The problem is, it wont play the files on my CD player after I have burned them to a CD _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Winston...you are the man.
That was almost too easy, considering all the effort I've put into trying to get them into a folder, and into my Power Tracks program.
My wife appreciates not having to listen to any more "colorful" language from my little music room.
Thanks....
Bent, I've got the same problem with two of my C-D players. They seem to be selective about which MP3 to play. There must be a later version of MP3 recorder and player...I don't know. But I do know that 5 copies of one of my homemade c-d's would not play anywhere except the HP computer I made them on.
But, three others would??!! |

Dumb question but are you making a data cd or a music cd. It needs to be finalized or closed before it will play in anything except a computer. Winston |

One more stupid question, how many songs are you putting on a cd? |

I just wanted to let everybody know that there was nothing wrong with the tracks DVD after all. The fault was my own..I goofed during the actual burning of the 2 first cd's. Everything works fine . _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars
