Hey guys... Eat your hearts out, I was there. Russ Wever laid some of the top jazz guitarists in Kansas City to rest last Monday night at one of the local jazz hot-spots. You should have seen their jaws drop when he started laying on some incredibly tasty and appropriate chords on the C6th.
Russ knows his scales, chords, and his steel inside out and the jazz venue really allowed him to honk. Maybe the best I ever heard him play. No matter what the jazz guys threw out, he had it covered in spades. Russ' wife, Carla, also did a great job of singing some jazz tunes. She is equally versatile singing on local Opry shows where Russ is on the staff band. |

Roger Hurst got us a table front and center. I am kicking myself for not bringing my camcorder! Hopefully in another few months they will get together again! |
