Until recently steelseat.com did not offer power strips. Since I am trying to listen to customers and potential customers it was obvious that power strips was an important part of a good usable seat.
This is an example of the flush mount we are using. The cord wraps up underneith and is even hard to see in the photo.
Of course these power strips can be added to other models than the Original
Also see our web site with the recent updates - www.steelseat.com
More to come in the very near future _________________ Joe Naylor, Avondale, AZ (Phoenix) Announcer/Emcee owner www.steelseat.com *** OFFERING SEATS AND Effects cases with or without legs and other stuff ****** -Desert Rose Guitar S-10, Life Member of the Arizona Carport Pickers Assoc., Southwest Steel Guitar Assoc., Texas Steel Guitar Assoc., GA Steel Guitar Assoc., KS Steel Guitar Assoc. Yes.
They are very handy.
I bought one with the power strip and back rest in 1984.
It was by Dan Rollins (Steelers choice).
In 2004 in Dallas I met him and mentioned I would like to buy another top to the seat.
He said to send it to him ,and he will put a
new top on it,free of charge. He did just like he said.
My walker seat is very nice. My wife said, it
to heavy to lift any more.
The seats in this post are very nice also.

Thanks Rick and Yes I will try to have some of these and others at the show in Phoenix in January.
I am trying to make a few ahead while filling orders and seem to be having a problem BUT that is a good thing. One of our mutual friends that goes back up north during the summer, ordered a seat and asked me to have it ready in October when he is back in the Phoenix area for the winter. Saturday I finished his 6th and 7th seat - the first 5 were sold.
Bill - You are right Steelers Choice makes a fine seat. Dan tells me that everytime he makes a seat with a power strip he fusses at his Dad for coming up with that idea. Ken and Dan are fine people and fine craftsman.
I hope to build seats that are up to those standards too.
Thanks for the notes guys

Joe,You mentioned a light coming on like a refrigerator? That would be the coolest,I play all of these dark clubs and unless I have my flashlight with me I can't see what's in my seat.If you can use some kind of florescent that would be great.Stu _________________ Steeltronics Z-pickup,Desert Rose S-10 4+5,Desert Rose Keyless S-10 3+5... L.E.D.'s may be even better, with minimal power drain and practicaly no heat.
More shock resistant. also. |

Power strips in seats (something new)? Ken and Dan Rollins were putting power strips in 1982 or 1983. A very well built and attractive seat! These seats came with seat belts,a back rest and Monroe shock absorbers plus a side compartment for quick access for strings ect.as options.
Some nut marketed under the name of (Jackpac)a seat starting in 1980 with power strips. Anything that helps a steeler is always welcome.

Jack you are correct. I did not intend to indicate that it was new to all seats. What is new is that my company offers it now.
Steelers Choice makes fine seats. I had one until my house was broken into and someone else has it now.
Ken Rollins was the one that came up with it as far as I know. He has came up with several good ideas.
I do not offer seat belts YET - Monroe shocks can be pioneered by someone else.
I am trying to offer what customers want when they come to steelseats.com and have added some things that other seat manufacturers have been offering. I like to think that some of the things I have offered recently and will offer soon may be unique too.
Like Stu mentioned maybe some time I can find a light that works like you refergerator or some version.
I have many requests for additions and am trying to provide what the customers want.
Sewing Seats was one of those ideas - see www.steelseat.com to see photos of that. _________________ Joe Naylor, Avondale, AZ (Phoenix) Announcer/Emcee owner www.steelseat.com *** OFFERING SEATS AND Effects cases with or without legs and other stuff ****** -Desert Rose Guitar S-10, Life Member of the Arizona Carport Pickers Assoc., Southwest Steel Guitar Assoc., Texas Steel Guitar Assoc., GA Steel Guitar Assoc., KS Steel Guitar Assoc.
