hey'all,
I play a peavey LTD. I'm wondering what kind of mods are recommended for this amp. I don't know if the amp is getting quieter or me more confident but lately I've been playing with it cranked. What I mean is I'd take some more volume without carrying around another amp if it were an option. It's in a little enclosure separate from the speaker. Does anyone do a mod that gives you three speaker inputs? One for 4 ohm and two for 8 ohm's? I'd like to hear about some other's experiences with this sorta thing before trying anything. thanks - brett |

Hey Brett, I set my speaker cabs up with two input jacks in parrallel. Your Ltd wants to see 4 ohms, so you could use two 8 ohm speakers---plug one cab into the back of the other cab, then plug THAT cab into your amp, so it sees 4 ohms, which is perfect. That woould set you up for a pair of speakers. Three speakers, two 16 ohm in parrallel, to one cab with 8 ohms, then into your LTD.
If I'm off here, someone will set me straight, but I think that would work fine. I'll post a picture for you. |

Here's one of my Rick Johnson cabs. I have all mine set up this way, so I have the option of adding speakers if I want. Just like a fender twin's wiring, except in my cabs.

| thanks for the info James. I have a back-up speaker that's 4 ohms, just like in my main cab. Maybe I could rig up my cab with an input to put those two 4 ohm spkrs in series and then add an 8 ohm speaker to that. One speaker, or three. That should be a lot louder, right? |

| You would move alot more air. The end result, you'd be heard pretty well. Cool thing about multiple speakers, is you can aim them the way you need to to be heard. The opposite is true, too, aim them away if you need. Hope this helps a little. |
