I'm looking for something new and useful to do with my vertical knee lever. I've tried lowering the B's to Bb, raising the E's to F#, and lowering string 6 to F#...these are all cool sounds, but with the rest of my copedent, it's either redundant, or doesn't get used much. What does everyone else here do with their LKV? What would be another useful change to put on it? Here's the rest of my E9th copedent:

When you did that, could you play C natural in tune when you combined it with the A pedal? I found that the B to A# change is much more useful if I can use it to get C. |

Yes, I had the split to get a C. But I usually just half-pedalled it anyway, even with the lever. _________________ www.pedalsteel.ca |

You might try raising the 5th string B up to D with that up lever, if you can make it pull short and fast. |

On one of my guitars (an SD-10 with only 3+5) I have the LKV set to give me the 'Isaacs' pull; that's raising the 5th to C# and the 6th to A. Very useful to me, giving me a '4' chord on strings 6,5,4 with a 'B' in the bass (10th), or as a nice Maj7th on strings 3,4,5,6.
B to A# is so vital to me that I have it on RKL (5th and 10th).
Another option for your LKV would be to raise 5 and 6 a whole-step each - this would give you (with Es lowered) a C6th 'pedal 7' pull. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Hi Tony.
That's almost exactly my current copedent. I have the G# lower to G on strings 3 and 6 on my LVL. Seems redundant (and maybe it is) since you've got the G on the half stop on your 1 and 7 raise, but it gets you the minor in the root position. _________________ GFI Ultra D-10 8x5/Sarno Freeloader/Telonics volume pedal/Fender Super Six Split Cab with a 1x15 BW |
