Would this time the pull better? I have mostly played a bud with a wound 6th. What is the concensus if any on msa? Im ready to order strings. Any reccomend for the C6? Thanks

It would time the pull better, as long as no slave bellcrank has been used on that string.
If you drop the sixth a full tone, a wound sixth might not be a good idea, as the changer finger may not have enough travel.
The advantage of a wound sixth is that it is more tolerant of cabinet drop than a plain string |

I use a wound 6th always. It's less "boingy" than a plain, and voices better with the 5th string. It takes a little more pedal/lever movement than a plain string, but gives you a more pleasing sound. I'm not a fanatic for timing pulls perfectly (what I can't hear when I'm playing isn't an issue), so minor differences that might bother some players (due to 3 or 4-hole pullers) don't really bother me.
The older MSA changer will easily lower any string a full tone, but sometimes the stock return spring must be replaced to allow that move. |

ive decided to go with a wound 6th which is what im used to. i think they sound better up the neck too. |
