as an owner of several skh emmons I can tell you
they are a fine steel
most have wonderfull tone and are sought after
to me its like half way between PP and all pull tone
they hardly ever break strings...
is one advantage
very easy to make changes if you need to
as far as pedals/knees etc
most have 4 hole bellcranks which I like A lot

they are my first choice of the emmons legrande steels

To add what Mike has already said, I play a Nashville LTD that has a short keyhead or at least it was shorter than the JCH I use to have and the strings seem to be more lively than the JCH and you have a little shorter pedal travel. The skh LeGrande would be my choice of the all pull Emmons.

Run a forum search and you will find several discussions about the Emmons short keyhead guitars.
I have one and i like it. It plays and sounds fantastic, but so does many Legrande II and III.
I don't know if it's much different than a regular keyhead Legrande, but i like the "neatness".

I had a real purty 1980 Emmons D-10 SKH Rosewood color. I would say it probly had the best tone of all the guitars I have had, including the Emmons Legrand II I have now. It also had the high dollar pentad pickup on it, which a lot of players don't like, but I really liked it. Had a problem with the LKL, so I traded it. Bobbe has a couple of SKHs on his website for sale, and they are priced right for sure! The only disadvantage I can think of, mine was a little harder to change strings on, because of the Keyhead, but no big deal.
