Well I can't express again how much I am looking forward to this great show again. I have played this show many times over the years, and it is one of the finest shows in the Country. Everything about is first class in every way. Also, I might mention that the backup band is always unbelieveable and one of the finest I have ever worked with. Also, the CT audience is one of the most appreciative of any I have ever played for. Of course, Mike Gross who is the MC is like a walking book of knowledge when it comes to music and I enjoy hearing his comments about various players and songs played on the show. I apologize for getting carried away about this great show, but I am really looking forward to being there again, so I hope to see many of you there.

We'll see you there Herby. It is a great show. I had the opportunity to play there last year and I brought Les Severs out of hibernation. Les is a singing legend on the East coast and it was great hearing him sing again. Maybe I'll put in a pitch for us to be in the show again next year.
Don't forget the "business meeting" at Chucks steak house following the show.
I'm also lucky enough to have Van Manakas in the band I work with. Fooch has been filling in also and everybody knows how great these guys are. We did "Right or Wrong" in our Branson style show and Fooch NAILED it.
It's a great life...

Herby,

Thanks so very much for all of the kind words about myself but especially for all the PSGA team. We are really looking forward for you to come on up and be with us on that weekend. We are very proud of the line-up that we have this year.

I have already uploaded on my "Swingin' West" web site www.swinginwest.com
my October 24 radio show which will be my annual salute to some of the upcoming PSGA stars. Herby, there is a set of you and some of your music co-stars on there.

I'm really looking forward to this one. You might say that this is the perfect steel show. A nice ballroom with great acoustics, excellent P.A. quality (thanks to Jeff DeMaio),unbelievable back up band, plenty of good steel picking and a whole bunch of real nice people. How can you beat that? See you all there. Merle P.S. Not far from Chucks Steak House either.

Thanks guys for the nice remarks. The show and the Association are a labor of love for all invvolved in it's production. Jeff DeMaio is the main man when it comes to booking the talent, dealing with the hotel, sound system, video projection screen, with close ups of the players hands, and a million other details. The rest of our volunteer helpers are dedicated to making the show happen.

We are very pleased that Chuck Lettes will be back again and that he will be doing an E9th Seminar on Saturday morning. One thing lacking in the Northeast are steel instructors, but Chuck fills the gap with his seminars. Of course we always look forward to having Mike Gross do the MC work and promoting our show on his Swingin West radio program.

Our biggest asset is the loyal audience each year. Without them we would not have a show.

Any attendees and performers who can stay another day or two are invited down to the Rodeo Bar (3rd Ave at 27th St, NYC) on Monday following PSGA (Nov. 9) where Western Caravan will be playing starting at 9:00. Lotsa Western Swing and HonkyTonk, good food, no cover.

The show is only a few weeks away. If you plan on going make hotel reservations this week because you will probably want to be there both days. Room rates go up after Oct. 19th.
We really look forward to this show every year.

If I did this right this is a pic of Les Severs singing with Fooch & me at the PSGA show last year.
At somewhere around 80yrs old Les is still one of the best I've ever heard.

I have my room reserved, and will be going to Chuck's Steakhouse with my son after the daytime show for Saturday Night Dinner.
We are looking forward to this year's show, it just gets better each year.
I have been going to this show for over ten years now and the players that I have seen and met makes it so worth it. Many are now gone and I cherish the fact that I got to see and meet them, so come out and enjoy the show, don't put it off, life is short, make the best of it!
