Recording my session this past August at Gene Breeden's Studio, Nashville, TN. was a momentous highlight for me. Gene arranged to have the very best musicians lined up,and when I discovered that the VIOLINIST was none other than the great Clinton Gregory, I felt like I always did trying to play my steel guitar in front of Jerry Byrd. When I decided on the arrangement for "Cold, Cold War" I was in hog-heaven when I found out that Clinton Gregory would be swapping lines with me all through that song. And on the gorgeous song-"Ashokan Farewell"- there was nothing else to do but have Clinton play it solo with full and soft piano chords in the background. Then we built it up gradually with the acoustic guitar and bass coming in. With Clinton on his violin, I did my best to stay out of the way. This is one of the great talents in the business and you should hear him sing if you haven't yet. Google him and give him a listen and be really pleased and thrilled.
I am really thankful to have this man on my new CD-"Smooth Melodies". I wanted to hear him a lot and since it was/and is my CD, I was pleased to hear this great talent play so beautiful. Thanks Clinton.

Bill, it was good to see you in St. Louis! Wish we could have visited more. I want a copy of this new CD, and yes, You've got two positives besides yourself, and they are Gene Breedon and Clinton Gregory! Keep on keeping on! Lonnie

LOnnie, glad to have visited with you in St. Louis. Hope to make it back to Jacksonville one of these days. Send me your address and I will have the cd in the mail.
Yes, Gene is one of the better guitarists in the business. And, Gene had arranged for Kraig Hutchins to play acoustic guitar. His talents are also tops in his field and when you hear him come in behind Clinton during the musical build up in "Ashokan Farewell" it is quite obvious that Gene knows what he is doing in his studio. Highly recommend this studio to anyone wishing to have the very best musicians on session work. John Heinrich played bass, and then added his sax and clarinet as required the next day. Clinton came in the second day also and added VIOLIN no. two. What a treat for me to enjoy and experience these pros in what they do best.
Just have to plug Clinton again though-do a search on the net and listen to Clinton as he sings "Writing on the Wall". He gives a very heart warming dedication to all our Veterans who have given their all for the protection of our country. I wish that all Americans could honor all of our service personnel and country in this manner.
Thanks for the soap box. (Hardly ever get on it, but it is time).

Lonnie, your cd is in the mail.. Hope you enjoy a few measures anyway. Clinton really played so good all throughout this session, as did all the musicians.
Roy, thanks for your support. It is most appreciated-especially coming from you.
