Here I am with another ergonomic question, there's a part of Londonderry Air in Winnie and Bill's book where you pick strings 4, 5 and 6 (if memory serves) and slide back two frets, engaging the C pedal alone when you get to the target fret. An incredibly cool sound, by the way, a cool example from 1975 of what Paul calls pivoting I believe. Now when I play a move such as both B and C down and release the B pedal and slide up a fret, I have the instep of my foot on the C pedal, but if I have to get the C pedal alone, I found it easer to use the outside of my boot. What do you guys do when you have to play just the C pedal, assuming your steel is set up Emmons, of course.

Thanks for reading my post and any replies.

Personally I move my foot over C only but YMMV.

As a side note, the C pedal only while sliding down 2 frets move is also a substitution for the string 6 G#-> F# lower. Not quite as smooth sounding but you get the same notes on 6,5,4 anyway.
