A current project needing your capable assistance guys :- If you were asked to list ‘Famous Steelies!’ how would you construct the list?

A'By Date'overview (not literally!) just 'ish!

Names for the pot

Jerry Byrd
Don Helms
Zane Beck
Jimmie Day
Curly Chalker
Tom Brumley
Jeff Newman
John Hughie
Hall Rugg

Leading to

Doug Jerrnigan
Buddy Emmons
Lloyd Green
Weldon Myrick
Al Perkins
Norm Hamlet
Tommy White
Joe Wright
Paul Franklin
Jim Cohen
Al Brisco
Robbie Turner
Ricky Davis
Donna Hammitt
Russ Hicks
Mike Johnson
Bruce Bouton
Mike Headrick
Mike Douchette
Terry Crisp
Randy Beavers
Fred Justice
Mike Sweeney
Herby Wallace
Doug Beaumier
Bobbe Seymour
Mickey Adams
Bobby Lee Wink

Current players list could be endless but I am trying to do more of a ‘historic household names’ list to kick off with so the start of this list is more significant.

This was a 'top of the head recall'
Please don't be offended if I have missed you, my small brain! I know!!! I'm doing my best but I forget then say .. goodness! how could I have missed him/her! Embarassed

Regards and thank you ....Bob
Smile

ps. I'll tackle our side of the pond when this is sorted!

Oh my gosh I can't believe I didn't see David Hartley's name on that list. I thought the consensus here on the forum was that he is the greatest PSG player bar none.

While I would like to respectfully request that my name be withdrawn from consideration for this list Laughing , I do however think Dan Dugmore and John Hughey should oughtta be on there.

Stuart, (To alleviate misunderstanding)I know David and his name is not there nor is Baz or Sarah and a host of others because I have a need to compile a Chronological US/Canadian list from the infancy of Pedal Steel! I will be talking to DH in a few weeks at the ISGF where the reasoning for this will come to light! As it happens Sarah will be there too I think.

best to you all, Bob

thx again Billy!
