Check out my Lap Steel Stand Design in the equipment for sale section. I think it is different enough from what's out there to show you.
Bob Hoffnar has offered to take one around with his Clinesmith so you can see it in person, along with a great band.
More info in the other post. _________________ www.deluxe34.com lap steel stands, Clinesmith, Gibson Console Grande, Northwesterns, The Best Westerns

A Quick Way To More Photos of the Stand
I would be interested in the measurements, especially from base to neck.
Do you think a frypan lap steel would fit? It has a smaller head.
Aloha,

I really like it, but not for the price. My lap is pretty cheap... |

Mark has made a great product. It is perfectly stable, light and portable. It uses standard psg type legs so you can save some money if you have some of those around already. Mark is an amazing metal craftsman. _________________ Bob |

That is awesome. Much better than all the offerings out there IMO.
Only thing I would add is a little padding on the brackets that hold the steel. |

Good Morning All
Thanks for the compliments. Here are some answers to the questions posted.
The standard length is set at 24". So if you give the width at the nut and the width of the body at 24" I can custom fit.
If you have a real long scale I can extend the 24" to what you need. It won't be as compact though. I tried to keep the package as short as the legs when colapsed. _________________ www.deluxe34.com lap steel stands, Clinesmith, Gibson Console Grande, Northwesterns, The Best Westerns

In looking at the link Don put here I see where Mark is open for suggestions. First let me compliment him on his fine craftsmanship. That stand really looks very nice.
I would suggest that he drill and tap a couple more places for the front support to be able compensate for different length guitars. And then for the rear main body support to make it in two pieces that could hinge stiffly in the middle to adjust for the guitars main body width, similar to the design of a snare drum stand.
Best wishes,
Danny |

Gerald
I posted the price and more details in the for sale (amps and stuff) section. I didn't think it was protocal to do the selling from SWP.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Here are the most recent changes. The bracket shape is revised and I polished it up for some bling!
