This last Tuesday was the AWA(academy of western artists)awards in Dallas, Texas. Billy Mata and the Texas Tradition walked away with western swing cd of the year. The cd is "This is Tommy Duncan"and is the first of a set of three featuring all Tommy Duncan songs, most of which he made popular with Bob Wills. I played all non pedal, mostly on a Stringmaster T8,to keep in line with the orginal style. Herb Remmington is also featured as he played on the orginals. Thanks to all who supported this project.
