So very sad.... The Little Nashville Opry in Brown County, Nashville,IN was totally destroyed by fire of unknown origin on Sat. night. No injuries, thankfully.
All the biggest names in Country Music have appeared there [and signed the walls] The fire is believed to have started in the dressing room area.
People in neighboring states, as well as IN, traveled to see the stars appearing there. [Geo. Jones was scheduled for Nov.] No decision as to the future plans for the Little Opry. Very, very sad!

Yeah, I've played there a few times with different artists. I liked that place. I hope it wasn't a total loss.

Really a sad thing. I played there a couple times with Daryle. It was somehting to behold backstage and dressing area. Lots and lots of signatures on the walls and benches. Only thing I can liken it to would be if the backstage area of the Ryman had the walls filled with autographes. And then to have it burn down Crying or Very sad I'm just thankful I was able to be a small part of a musical history that is now over. They may rebuild but you just can't replace that!
As always...God Bless. Whip

Yeah, I played there a time or two with Dave and Sugar, really cool venue. I hope they rebuild it, but won't be surprised if they don't.

I heard that the owner(s) were talking like it would be rebuilt. Time will tell.

While there are no 'set and dried' plans on the rebuilding of the Opry [destroyed by fire on Sept 19th]that have been released, there are always rumors around here.....like the last one we heard [strictly a rumor now] the possibility of the Little Opry and the Monroe Bluegrass Venue at Bean Blossom merging. Sounds reasonable ??
It is said that Opry owner Ms Hamilton would prepare food for the various performers....a favorite of all was her meatloaf.
What a loss to all.

The local news is reporting the cause of the fire as arson.

It's a crazy world we're living in these days.

I've never played or been inside the place, but have many musician friends who have. I have been to Brown county, the grounds visiting Nashville and all the little shops around there.

Sorry, I meant to say Nashville.

One more little note about the Little Nashville Opry.
Investigators agree that the fire was arson, a total loss estmated at three million dollars. They are requesting passers-by with any info at all to contact them.
What a loss to muscians and to all who have loved for the last thirty-five years, to go to Nashville for dinner, shopping in the little shops and ending a perfect evening with the finest talent in country music!
