I'd like to get a volume/tone pedal that gives the same effect of steel players such as Speedy West. I've heard the Fender reissue doesn't deliver the same throw on the tone control. Can anyone give me more information? If the Fender doesn't have that sound what does? I know Bigsby made them but I can't find one.
Any information would be very helpful. thanks,

Will

I remember West/Bryant footage where Speedy´s
performing that filtering trick but,as I recall,it
was carried out by means of an on-board tone-pot ;
maybe he got into tone pedals later ; the afore-
mentioned LOOKS cooler,though...McUtsi

Speedy had both. I have no experience ( yet ) of the new fenders but if not as stock, they should work fine at least if you have a correct pot and cap in there. I have no idea what they have as a stock item, you should search the "electronics" section, there has been discussion about the new Fenders. Old Bigsbys and Fenders show up on ebay time to time but are usually a bit pricey.

I don't know about the new ones, but the old one I tried didn't have enough throw on the tone pot to work well. Possibly a different taper pot would fix that.
