Just mounted the Alumitone on my Show-Pro. Very interesting. I like the clear high end and transparency. There is something lacking in the lower midrange, but I'm getting it tweaked in. I use a Sarno Rev and Furlongs, and I'm having to set the vari-z much differently than with the Wallace or the BL 710. The jury is out but I'll probably leave it on until I can crank it up live and see how it does against a band. Definitely different than any pickup I've heard. Very clear. |

David, i've noticed it cuts through the mix better than any PU i've had. Once you get it dialed in i think you'll love it |

You're right. I love it. Pickup search may be over. Plus it looks cool. |

Pat, that is a good question. Are the humbucker alumitones electrically the same as the others, just made to fit a humbucker size mount? Or are they truly humbuckers? |

They are a humbucker, but they don't sound like one, they have the SC tone or charateristics and as quiet or quieter than a humbucker that we are use to.
Go to the lace site, it explains how they are designed. |

The Alumitone is not a single coil or a humbucker. It is unlike any other pickup design. There are NO windings. It is just an "Aluminum" frame with magnets. I do not know how it work, but there is a cool video on the Lace Musical Products website that explains it. All I know is is is the best pickup I have ever played on my Williams guitars.
