Now, I just need artists...
----------------------------
Homeland Entertainment Group announced today the development of their brand new Christian Country label, Monteagle Records, as they recruited and welcomed aboard new A&R Director, Michael Douchette, of Gallatin, TN. “We are excited about Mike coming on board,” stated Bob Jones, CEO of Homeland Entertainment Group. “We believe Christian Country music is a very important genre in today’s music scene. Mike will be signing groups on our new Monteagle Christian Country label and will be the A & R Director for the label.” Under Jones direction, Homeland has had over a 40 year track record of Southern Gospel music success with such names as Rambo’s, Oak Ridge Boys, Bill Gaither Trio, Stamps Quartet, Imperials, Speer Family, and Cathedral Quartet, making the legendary Nashville-based entertainment company "home."
Douchette is the son of the late, William Douchette, (stage name: "Sheriff" Tex Davis) who with Gene Vincent penned the 50’s rock sensation, “Be-Bop-a-Lula.” The song, along with Sheriff Tex’s management, songwriting, and country music radio experience as a DJ, landed him in a promoter position with Nashville-based Monument Records. In 1967, he began making an even greater impact on music row. Sheriff Tex promoted and ignited the explosive careers of Dolly Parton, Jeanne Seely, Kris Kristofferson, and many other successful artists. His business savvy, charismatic personality, and passion for music landed him in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, stamping his name in music history as a pioneer in country music, and giving him the distinct status as one of Nashville’s Rock and Roll founders.
With a rich music heritage planted and cultivated by his father, Michael Douchette’s career began at age 19 in a harmonica overdub with Ronnie Prophet and continues flourishing today. His many contributions to the music industry reads like a who’s who of not only Country music, but Southern Gospel music as well. A short list of his credits includes a seven-year tour with George Jones and Tammy Wynette. Douchette’s creditability and phenomenal talents positioned him early on as one of the most in-demand session players in both Country and Gospel music. His distinct harmonica contributions to the legendary Alabama “Mountain Music” platinum project is only one example of a lifelong list of his credits. Others include sessions and/or live performances from the Grand Ole Opry, to all over the country and abroad, with names like Ronnie McDowell, Billy Joe Royal, Bill Hanff, Perry’s, Tammy Vice, Legacy Five, Steeles, Hinson’s, Gaiters, Alan Jackson, Mark Chestnutt, Faith Hill, Lorrie Morgan, Alabama, John Berry, Clint Black, Jack Greene, Ace Cannon, Paulette Carlson, Earl Thomas Conley, Bobbie Cryner, Dixiana, Vern Gosdin, Loretta Lynn, Wayne Newton, Ray Price, Crabb Family, Bonnie Raitt, Eddy Raven, Linda Ronstadt, Dan Seals, Doug Stone, Mel Tillis, Pam Tillis, Randy Travis, Conway Twitty, Billy Walker, Keith Whitley, Chely Wright, and many more.
With this latest move into Homeland Entertainment Group’s top Christian Country slot, Douchette will be following in his father’s footsteps, as he develops new artists and helps them realize their career goals. Having been bathed in country music from childhood, and having steadily built a respected name reminiscent of his father’s, industry insiders are expecting positive results from his endeavors ahead. General consensus: Douchette will develop and launch new artists onto the music scene, expanding Christian Country into new arenas with much success. Many colleagues who have worked with him during his 35 years in the music industry predict the "Douchette" name will once again go down in history.

Michael,
Congratulations on the new "gig". No doubt, you will do very well as A&R for Monteagle.
Saw you at the Grand Casino in (pre-Katrina) Biloxi with Chely Wright - great show.
Best wishes on the new journey,

Congratulations! It's nice to read so much about your career and that of your father. However, I noticed they made no reference to the steel guitar. It's not like you're just another Charlie McCoy. _________________ HagFan

Michael: I have read many of your posts on the forum and in fact just answered one of your posts this morning but I had no idea who I was REALLY answering. I am so happy & thankful that you have a new "gig" and I know that we will have better country gospel as a result. Roy & I also love gospel. In fact he has done two albums including the Lord's Prayer. I also was shocked to know about your Dad's history. Between the two of you I would say you have just the job that God intended. May He continue to bless you in your new job. Laurie |
