Security expert Forum member Wiz Feinberg has provided me with a magic file that prevents the Nigerian scammers from accessing the Forum. I installed the file today. Hopefully this will put an end to those pests who have been trolling our classified ads for victims.

Thanks, Wiz, for all your hard work putting this together.

I didn't believe it was possible. Still not sure.

This is one time I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong.

Thanks for all your efforts, Wizardo!

Well hopefully it doesn't block all of Nigeria from looking in. Just the scammers IP's.

There is a bit of lapsteel in african music, like King Sunny Ade etc.

I sure hope this works. But IMO there can be nothing done in these matters. What if this or these guys use a Anonymizer??Will this program filter those also?Does this file only let people on the forum that are using a legit Ip adress? If so maybe you can give me this prog also.I am having trouble with spammail and other things

The upside of the Nigerian scams is that they are so obvious from the first line of the message....it's not necessary to read all of it to discover that it's a scam!

We're simply blocking the IP addresses of known crooks. They get a file not found error when they try to access anything at steelguitarforum.com.

That sounds great, b0b! I mean, blocking known IP addresses.
If the software was detecting bad grammar, then most of the forumites would be blocked.

You sure did it this time, Bobby!

Guess I'll just have to get that $33,000,000 from some other impoverished, third-world country.
